Reading is perhaps one of the most important skills that a child can develop in life.  The Monster on Top of the Bed encourages reading because:

• It’s an interesting story that children like to hear read to them.
• There are different size editions.
• Some children prefer to read the e-book.
• If you have many children, you can print a personal copy of the book for each of them, using the .pdf file.  Kids think it’s cool to have a physical book, plus their own copy that they can write in.
• Children enjoy listening to the book in different languages as they read the book.
• Different versions of the book allow children to compare and contrast the versions, and point out the differences.  They love to do this.
• Teachers can display the e-book while children read a physical copy of the book.
