Writing skills often make children more successful in school, and in life.  The Monster on Top of the Bed encourages writing skills in a variety of ways including:

• Encouraging children to write their own version of The Monster on Top of the Bed in a special edition that includes only major artwork and children.  As children write their own version of the story, they create exactly what they need to banish monsters and make friends more easily.
• If you have many children, you can print a personal copy of the book for each of them, using the .pdf file.  Kids think it’s cool to have a physical book, plus their own copy that they can write in.
• Children (whose parents or teachers are members) can also make a phone call and make a recording of the story.  They can also record their own stories.
• Children are encouraged to write and illustrate their own book.
