Educators
If times are tight, you can use The Monster on Top of the Bed to raise money. Also, we have a donation system that you can use to get free copies of our resources.
Educators enjoy using The Monster on Top of the Bed in the classroom because:
- They have a fun book to read with their class, a book that their children really enjoy
- They feel good about helping children learn how to banish monsters (or more accurately learn how to convert monsters into best friends) the child sleeps through the night
- They can project the e-book version of the book on a wall or screen, so that the entire class can watch it while some children read the hard cover or paperback versions of the book. This provides for multiple levels of engagement.
- If they don’t have the budget to buy the book, they can project the video version of The Monster on Top of the Bed onto a wall or screen.
- They buy the e-book version of the book and print out copies for each child to use. Children can be encouraged to write or draw on their personal copies.
- They can download they .mp3 files and use the Spanish and Italian readings while the children read the book.
- They can submit lesson plans for other teachers and homeschoolers to use.
- These are fun activities for a class:
- Compare and contrast the larger book with the smaller book. They truly enjoy watching the child discover the differences between the two versions and discussing why those differences exist.
- Compare and contrast the different performers styles
- Look for cognitive words in the Spanish, Italian and English versions
- Drawing pictures of Karrit and Suzy and submit them to the website for possible publication.
- They like to be able to suggest a way that their students’ parents can spend quality time with with their children going over the many life lessons in The Monster on Top of the Bed, as opposed to going places where spending money is required.
