Opportunity to Make Children Happy
The opportunity to make children happy comes from many things, but one thing is certain: What makes one child sad can make another child happy. That’s one reason why The Monster on Top of the Bed is available in many different formats. A few examples:
- Some children enjoy drawing. They can draw, and have a teacher, parent or sibling upload their drawings into an e-book that they can print out or share with family, friends and classmates by e-mail. It’s great for their self esteem.
- Some children prefer to write. A version of the book that features artwork without words is available, and children write their own story in the book.
- Others like to perform. We have a play script version of the book.
All of these high-tech and low-tech features, and many more are available because children have different emotional intelligences. They are inspired by different things.

The Magic Opportunity To Succeed | The Monster on Top of the Bed
In this video about The Monster on Top of the Bed by Alan Jordan, the author presents a magic opportunity to succeed because it helps children to read, make friends and banish bedtime fears. It does this by being an entertaining bedtime story that provides a magic mantra for children to say, “You’re welcome to stay until I say nay, and then you’ve got to go and you can’t say no,” and by modeling the Golden Rule.
The author takes the viewer on a tour of the various versions of The Monster on Top of the Bed, including multi-media e-books that allow children, their parents and teachers to upload artwork. He points out how the features of the big book, small booklet, free audio files and even a version that includes only major artwork, allowing a child to write their own story helps children to build self esteem.
Help Your Child Learn To Read, Write and Draw
First and foremost, it’s a great book. Children love to read it. Here’s a quote from a recent review on the website 2-Wired 2 Tired:
“Last week a new book arrived in the mail… The Monster on Top of the Bed by Alan Jordan.
Since then we have read it so many times that I have lost count. It is now one of those books that you somewhat memorize and can recite without actually reading the pages!
All 3 of my kids, aged 18 months, 5 yrs, and 7 yrs, have brought the book out to read either independently or for me to read to them, without suggestion or prompting! . . .”
The Monster on Top of the Bed also conveys important values.
The Monster on Top of the Bed comes in various formats, and provides incentives for children to read, write, draw, appreciate different languages and cultures, and use a computer.
The book comes in large and small formats. Children enjoy comparing the formats and finding the differences. (The small booklet is designed for reading along with a CD. The large book is designed to make it easy for a child to read alone, or with someone else, particularly at bed time. Some of the words in the booklet are more stylized, and there’s slightly different phrasing. Children love to point out the differences.- Children enjoy drawing pictures, and having their parents or teachers scan those illustrations and upload them to the multi-media e-book so that they can hear the story read as their artwork is displayed.
- The book comes in a major artwork only edition, so children can enjoy sitting with a parent, sibling or teacher and writing their own story line. Later, they write put their words on top of the artwork, and place their name on the cover as a co-author.
The Monster on Top of the Bed gives children the magic words, the special mantra, to banish monsters whenever they want. More than that, The Monster on Top of the Bed gives children who are not afraid of monsters, the knowledge they need to prevent monsters from robbing them (and you) of their precious sleep. Order your copy now. Also, if happen to work for a company or organization that needs to get more business, this book is available in sponsored editions where your company’s or organization’s name and information appears on the back cover. Promotional partnerships can be arranged.
PTA Fundraising Idea – Beyond Bookfairs
PTAs, schools and libraries need to fund raise. They need new ideas that can raise a lot of money quickly. Candy and cookies are fine, but many parents feel that they need ideas that will excite children and their parents about the effort. The Monster on Top of the Bed, was recently reviewed by the blog 2 Wired 2 Tired. It’s a wonderful review, that includes pictures of the writer’s children with my book. I suggest that you read it. In that post the writer said:
Overall I have to say that the book was a huge success… especially since all the recent purchases at the school book fair have been totally ignored since this book came in the mail!
That statement got me to thinking about how this particular book has true value for PTAs as a fund raiser. Children love the book. They would not hesitate to tell any of their friends about it. In fact, children would be delighted to take a special sponsored edition of the book that has a picture of their school on the back cover and explains how this book is being used to raise money for any number of things, including:
- Books for the library
- Books for the classroom
- Construction
- After school activities
- Reading programs
- and the list goes on and on.

The Monster on Top of the Bed comes in a variety of editions, and you can download the story in three languages for free.
Just imagine if a child you know came up to you, proudly pointed to the back cover of The Monster on Top of the Bed and said something like this: “This is a picture of our school’s nurse. We’re selling this book to remodel the nurse’s office and buy her things. Would you be interested in buying this book. I’ve read it, and I love it. You don’t have to pay for it now. Just sign this sheet.”
Imagine on the sheet that you had your choice of a paperback version, a hard back, and a hardback with a book flap and a small book accompanied by a CD. Imagine that you asked the student a question. Imagine that she told you all about why she loved the book. Might you buy the book for your children?

An example of how the back cover of The Monster on Top of the Bed can be customized to help with fundraising.
It’s easy to raise $2,500 if children ask
Children love the book, and they’re happier to sell it than to sell candy. When they sell candy they just give out a sheet. When they ask people to buy this book, they’re excited. They’ll talk for minutes about why the book is great. If 100 children ask 10 people to buy the book and half do buy that’s 500 copies sold, and if the PTA makes $5 a book, that’s $2,500, but that’s just the beginning.
It’s easy to raise more money through publicity
The publisher will create a special web page for the book that parents can tell their friends about by
- phone
- putting links on their personal web pages, or
- giving out a flyer.
This web page can be publicized in newspapers and through Public Service Announcements on the radio or TV.
Here’s an example of a press release. The publisher will work with you to craft the right words to get results:
The PTA at the Roberts school is selling a special limited edition of Alan Jordan’s The Monster on Top of the Bed to raise money to remodel the nurse’s office. (Details about the remodel go here.) You can get your copy by going to http://www.NewNursesOffice.com. (Of course this would be a special URL.)
In The Monster on Top of the Bed scary monsters are converted into friends. “What are you talking about?” you say. I’m talking about a book (and many other resources) that you read and your children will read. When you run out of time to read and re-read the story (children love to it read it over and over) you can download free .mp3 files where professionals perform the story two pages at a time in English, Spanish and Italian.
The Monster on Top of the Bed gives children the magic words, the special mantra, to banish monsters whenever they want. More than that, The Monster on Top of the Bed gives children who are not afraid of monsters, the knowledge they need to prevent monsters from robbing them (and you) of their precious sleep.
Children from the Roberts school have recorded a message that says why they love the book. You can hear that by calling (area code) 555-1234. (Of course this would be a real number.)
Orders can be placed by calling (area code) 555-2364, or by sending a check for $20 to (name and address) or by visiting http://www.NewNursesOffice.com. (Of course this would be a special URL.)
You can raise lots more money through Facebook – Even When You’re on the Run
Through the power of a special “Facebook Fan Page,” parents can tap into the networking abilities of Facebook. Parents spend time on Facebook anyway. The publisher will outline a strategy that will make sales through Facebook to viral. (That means that many people hear about the book and buy it through word-of-mouth advertising.)

Employee Benefits – Dental Benefits – Dental Plan Elimination – Referrals
Protect Your Practice!
- The Nevada Public Employee’s Benefit Plan (PEBP) Plan Year 2012 eliminates dental benefits except routine preventive services (4 cleanings per year, annual examinations/x-rays, fluoride and sealant treatments)
- State employees are also being forced to “tighten their belts in other ways.
- Some of your patients will be forced to forgo care for which they would normally accept your services.
- Others will delay treatment.
- Some patients will pay their bills more slowly.
- The best way to make up for these losses is to obtain additional patients.
- The best source of referrals is your current patient base.
- A continuous stream of referrals is more valuable than a single referral.
- If you have patients who are children, giving (or selling) a book that they enjoy reading, a book that contains information about you and your practice will create goodwill and stimulate referrals.

Schools Funding Cuts – PTOs can Raise Funds with The Monster on Top of the Bed
With schools and libraries losing funding to buy books, new and creative solutions to fund raise are being sought. Sponsoring a children’s book is one way for PTOs to raise substantial funds, and members enjoy the process.
For your information, this blog post was created after reading this article:
PTOs Pitch in More Than Ever in Economic Pinch
The italics means that I am quoting from the article.
All funding for new library books was one of the accounts cut from the 2010-11 school budget following its defeat at the polls.
Working with the media center staff, Ziegler said parents also took on both the labor and funding needed to continue the school’s longstanding “Wizards of Words” contest held annually for fourth and fifth graders.
Parents last year coached “teams” at their homes to prepare for the contest, she said last month.
Even with the generosity of both time and funding from school families, Ziegler said that the PTO feels it necessary to make donations received from parents go as far as possible in coming up with projects at the school. “We are pushing our community chairs to be stingy with their money,” she said.
Here’s a solution that can help PTOs raise substantial funds, and do it easily – Sell sponsored editions of The Monster on Top of the Bed.
Full details may be found on these two web pages:
- http://monbed30.max-opp.com/sponsored-editions/bundles-sponsored-edition/ (discusses the costs – which can be as little as $20.)
- http://monbed30.max-opp.com/sponsored-editions/ – provides an overview of why this book can help to raise funds.
However, here’s the skinny:
• The Monster on Top of the Bed is an entertaining children’s book that banishes monsters and helps children make friends.
• It’s praised by children, professionals, parents and grandparents.
• It has great reviews
• In a sponsored edition, the back cover can be customized to talk about why the PTO needs to raise money
• It has the potential to raise funds immediately, by selling it and making a profit, and to encourage donations for years to come.
• Unlike other fund raising concepts, the PTO members are not limited to selling people that they know. The book can be sold effectively via news releases, and by asking your current membership base to pass the word by sending out a few e-mails asking people (anywhere in the English, Spanish or Italian) speaking world to buy the book to support the PTO.
• It’s easy to make $5.00 or more per book.
• 100 people who sell 5 books each generate 500 sales with $2,500-$3,500 in profit, depending how many books they buy at one time.
• The Monster on Top of the Bed is easily sold by the children of PTO members.
• This amount of earnings can be doubled or tripled by word-of-mouth advertising, without any additional effort on the part of the PTO members.
• Web-based/publicity generated sales can add another $2,500 to $3,500 in profit with minor effort. (Send out some press releases that are crafted for the PTO and make a follow up phone call or two.)
• This is only one of several opportunities.

The New World Order Conspiracy & Reading Well
True or False?
The New World Order is no longer a conspiracy theory; it is an established fact.
By the way the “G” in freemasonry stands for “God” and “Geometry.” Details
Whatever your answer, one thing is for sure, it’s best to be able to read well to understand conspiracy issues, so that you can make the right decisions for your life. The Monster on Top of the Bed can help children learn to read well, as well as banish night fears and make friends. Order your copies for yourself, friends and family, now.
The following is taken from the above link:
| The “New World Order” has been a prominent conspiracy theory for decades[1]. Here and now, as the new millennium dawns, the New World Order has become a globally recognised political concept,[2] and as such it can no longer be regarded simply as a theory.
Mankind is now literally entering a new age, the Age of Aquarius, according to the ancient zodiacal calendar which is as old as human civilisation.[3] Aquarius is associated by astrologers with brotherhood, or fraternity, which is the cornerstone of Freemasonry. |

| The previous zodiacal age was that of Pisces. The zodiacal symbol of Pisces, the fish, is also an important Christian symbol, and it is noteworthy that the age of Pisces coincided with the age of Christianity. During the previous age dates were written with the suffix “A.D.” which stands for “Anno Domini” or “Year of Our Lord” denoting the era of Christ. Alternatively, dates were denoted “B.C.” – “Before Christ”. | ||
Public Employees Benefit Plan – Eliminates Dental, Vision, Other Benefits

The Public Employees Benefit Plan is eliminating most of its dental coverage, fostering the need for referrals through Sponsored Marketing of The Monster on Top of the Bed
Imagine that you’re a dentist or doctor with 25% of your business coming from employees of the State of Nevada.
Imagine that the PEBP plan is discontinuing many of the benefits that your patients enjoy.
Wouldn’t you be worried about losing business? After all, the Nevada State Employees are concerned with pay cuts, additional furlough days and now having to pay more money out of pocket for dental care. Many employees may not have much free money to spend on dental work. You need to build your business.

Word of Mouth advertising is the best way to create interest in professional services, and sponsored editions of The Monster on Top of the Bed are one of the best ways to create buzz with parents, and with children.
If you’re like most dentists in that situation, you’d be looking around for a way to build your business and recoup the revenue that you’re about to lose. What’s the best way to build business? Most dentists respond, “word-of-mouth advertising.”
The Monster on Top of the Bed can help you to build your business by generating substantial word-of-mouth advertising. It’s simple. All you need to do is give copies of the book to patients with kids, see how they like the book, and ask them to give copies to their friends who have kids.
As children read the book they enjoy it, and they read the back cover, which discusses your practice. If they like the book, and they like what you share about yourself and your practice, you’re liable to start having children ask their parents to take them to you. Now, that’s word-of-mouth.

Pre school: Day Care Centers Build Clientele with a Sponsored Version of The Monster on Top of the Bed
Referrals are the lifeline of Day Care
For pre-school day care centers, the trick to getting more business is to build referrals. Business comes from three main sources: (1) parents of students; (2) centers of influence whom people trust (such as insurance agents and real estate agents); and (3) referrals agencies. There are over 700 local child care resource & referral (CCR&R) agencies is over 38 states. These help families, child care providers, and communities find and offer affordable, quality child care.
[jwplayer mediaid="1516"]
A Special Tool Naturally Generates Referrals
There is one tool that can create referrals from all of these sources: a sponsored version of children’s book that helps young children resolve a problem. One of the biggest problems young children face is the fear of monsters. You can help them to allay their fears.

Unique Aspects of The Monster on Top of the Bed
[jwplayer mediaid="1522"]
Be a Hero
The reviewers love this book. So do parents. Help children, their parents, their grandparents to get a good night’s sleep, and build your business. Referrals naturally flow when you help someone resolve a problem, especially when you help them implement an easy, fun solution.

Day care centers get a continuing source of quality referrals when they sponsor a book that resolves children's problems, like The Monster on Top of the Bed
Some of the many ways to use this sponsored publication are:
- Display the book in your day care and sell a copies to parents who love the artwork and the story. Tell them how to download the .mp3 files so they can listen to the story in different languages with their children.
- Give it away to parents, grandparents, etc. who enroll a new student
- Mail it to parents as a “thank you.” (White catalog mailing envelopes are available.)
- Donate copies to local hospitals. Many of the children there will need day care after they are better.
- Donate it to a service club (Rotary, Kiwanis, etc.) and suggest that they sell it as a fund raiser. Each copy that they sell, promotes your business.
- Give away copies for a holiday present.
- Hold workshops on helping to banish monsters, give the book away (or sell it) and go over how to use the discussion questions.

Waikoloa Village was a Wheel of Fortune vacation destination. This is tasteful marketing. The Monster on Top of the Bed can provide tasteful marketing.
In a sponsored edition of The Monster on Top of the Bed, we can customize the back page of the book to include information about your day care. We can also modify page 33 of the book, or one of the front pages. Here are a few examples of how you might use this page:
- Discussion questions that relate your day care and the book
- A personal letter
- Share your mission statement

Wheel of fortune awards vacations that people discuss for years. You can give out a sponsored book that will have parents talking about your day care for years.
Have you ever seen the TV show Wheel of Fortune? This show gives away vacations. People watch the information about the vacations, when they would normally turn off to a commercial. If you include tasteful information in a sponsored edition of a book that helps children stop being afraid of monsters, the book will be shared with many people, and that will build referral business.
Also, we can create videos that explain why you’ve sponsored this edition, that can be uploaded to YouTube and other video directories to help new patients find you.
