Alan in Wonderland – An artist’s perception. When I hired the artist to do a cartoon, they also gave me this and said Since you write childrens books, I thought you might like to be “Alice in Wonderland” – FUN! Hope it makes you smile :-)  If you’ve got a picture drawn by a child, let me know by sending an e-mail to alan @ monbed.com.

One of the goals of The Monster on Top of the Bed is to encourage creativity in children. I attempt to do this in many ways.  One way is to show that it’s okay be be silly sometimes. (Hence the above illustration.) Another way is for children (or their parents, grandparents or teachers) to upload their pictures into e-books and mail them to friends and family.

I also like to encourage children to draw pictures, even if they are not related to the story. Here are some of the drawings that children have made that strike a chord with me.  Enjoy!
