Educators & Librarians Would Love a Copy of The Monster on Top of the Bed

  • Educators need and embrace tools that get children excited about learning, like books that come in different editions, and webinars that get children involved in reading, writing and drawing.
  • Children enjoy using school and public libraries.

  • Get hundreds, perhaps thousands, of copies into the hands of educators and librarians who are excited about using it

About The Monster on Top of the Bed

  • I was awarded a grant by the Nevada Arts Council to encourage me to write this book.
  • It Banishes night fears – the combination of Grandmom’s mantra, “You’re welcome to stay until I say ‘Nay.’ Then it’s time to go and you can’t say no.”, plus the way that Karrit (the little red guy in the picture) and Suzy (the little girl) make friends. A comment from a parent: “Yes, he is enjoying the book. He doesn’t want to read/listen to it every night, but perhaps every 3rd or 4th night he’ll ask for it. I’m happy to report that he has been sleeping all night in his room for the past three nights. He does still seem a bit scared when laying down for bed, but once he’s asleep, he has been staying asleep. We are not sleeping in his room at all, which has been a really nice change, as well.” – Melanie
  • It develops a love of language and culture – children may listen to any reader, language and part of the book by selecting the track to which they listen
  • It Provides Hours of Entertainment – A comment from a parent, ““Last weekend, I had occasion to drive home four rowdy children, ages 5 to 10. One of them found the CD to The Monster on Top of the Bed and asked me to play it. Another one found the book and turned the pages for the others. For the next 15 minutes, I had four rapt children in my car as the CD played twice. Any story that captures the attention of these four kids is definitely very good.” – Sharon Wood.
